NEIS - New Enterprise Incentive Scheme

NEIS is a Commonwealth Government program to help eligible social security recipients into self-employment. The program includes training in small business management, a business plan, one year of income support (approximately $399 per fortnight - this payment is yours to keep along with any profits you make from your business) and mentor support. Sometimes it is difficult for young people to access the program, so SCEEC can provide a supported base to develop an idea to present to NEIS.

Most NEIS providers conduct Information Sessions where appointments are made for an interview where you will pitch your business idea. For more information see www.workplace.gov.au, or contact the providers under Resources.

SCEEC assists young people, who are eligible to use SCEEC services, with preparation of their application to this program
