Business Review Sessions

As of 2008 this service is only available on request, and in consultation with SCEEC staff as part of an employment / training pathway plan.


Young people present their business plan/overview of their enterprise at the end of formal training. SCEEC members, including casual clients and incubator residents can access reviews on request.

Aims

  • to check understanding
  • to identify areas of weakness in business plan by providing external comment
  • to identify supports / resourses for the young person as they engage in their self-employment pathway.
  • to gather information on pathways
  • to help self-evaluate learning’s

The review provides a forum for verbal presentation of the self-employment idea in a 45 min timeslot.

Presentation should encapsulate key areas of the Business plan.

In the review you will describe:

  • The business opportunity
  • Your current management team (usually them)
  • The product or service
  • How will it make money
  • Who is your customer
  • Who are your existing and potential competitors?
  • If the product/service offered/ meets an unfilled need or is offering a superior solution?
  • Your competitive advantage or How will you sustain you current advantage?
  • The milestones you’ve achieved so far?
  • Your pathway plan for the next 3-6 months and where do you see yourself heading in one year’s time?
